If you are planning to visit Turkey from Palestine, you can check our list of places given below to get a better idea of Turkey:
Kastabala
Make a pit stop in Kastabala on the way to Karatepe-Aslantaş.
The ancient remains of Kastabala date from the far later Greco-Roman and Byzantine eras, however, the area was formerly a part of the local neo-Hittite kingdom. On the major road leading to the neo-Hittite site, it is situated about 18 kilometres to the south.
Following Byzantine baths, a long, overgrown walk with recently constructed columns leads to the remnants of a Roman temple and a small theatre.
Behind the ruin site, on the hill, is situated a mediaeval castle that overlooks the area.
Caves of Heaven & Hell
The little cove of Narlıkuyu, which is 148 kilometres south of Adana and four kilometres west of Kızkalesi, is well-known for its fish restaurants and its jutting outdoor balconies over the lake.
About two kilometres inland, up the steep hill from the cove, lie the Caves of Heaven and Hell (Cennet Cehenem Mağarası), which, in accordance with legend, connect with the River Styx of the underworld.
At the gaping opening of the cave, which may be reached by descending almost 400 steps of winding stairs to the Cave of Heaven, there is a Byzantine-era church.
Ancient Anazarva
The peaceful farming town of Dilekkaya, located 80 kilometres northeast of Adana, is encircled by a steep cliff that is topped by Anazarva Castle and is strewn with the ancient remains of Ancient Anazarva (also called Anazarbus).
Anazarva was a prominent city for this region throughout the Roman era, despite frequent earthquakes and tumultuous changes in local power over the decades. Travelers may simply combine a trip to Ylankale with a vacation here.
