What are some places Kuwaiti citizens can visit in Turkey?

Being a country sealed to the brim with age-old traditions, rich culture, delicious food, and expansive history, Turkey is a breathtaking country with a lot of astonishing tourist attractions.

Relax on the beach and enjoy the bewitching and soothing beach views, while indulging yourself in a vacation to this beautiful country.

Kuwaiti citizens intending to visit Turkey can check our list of places given below to get a more clear idea about the country:

Ephesus

Most ancient sites in Turkey are far less visited than those in Italy and Greece, and the UNESCO-protected site of Ephesus is arguably the grandest. Among the original Seven Wonders of the World was the Temple of Artemis in Ephesus. Despite its ruins, Ephesus' remains remain fascinating. Colonial streets, temples, an amphitheatre, a Celsus library whose carved façade still stands today, and archways framing a blue Mediterranean sky are all there.

For about 1,500 years, Ephesus was largely forgotten. The ruins of this incredible classic city were hidden from the world until the 1860s when an international team of archaeologists began excavating the ruins. At present, less than 20% of Ephesus has been excavated, yet it is one of the largest accessible archaeological sites in the world.

Ankara

A modern European metropolis, Ankara, Turkey's capital and second most populous city, rises dramatically from the banks of the Enguri Su. In the landscape, you will find ruins from the Hittites, Phrygians, Hellenistic, Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans.

Government and state houses, major universities, military bases, consulates, bustling nightlife, and Genclik Park, the city's oldest park, can be found in the modern city.

Some of the top places to visit in Ankara include, Eymir Lake, Altınkoy Acik Hava Muzesi, Ankara Castle, Ankitbair, Rahmi M. Koc Muzesi, and more.

Pergamon

Being home to many Greco-Roman sites, Turkey also houses the ancient Pergamon in modern-day Bergama.

Once home to one of the most important libraries in the ancient world and home to a famous medical school headed by Galen, the remaining temple ruins of Pergamum now stands on a hilltop, towering exotically over. The Acropolis district, with its theatre carved into the hillside, contains most of the ruins and offers wide panoramic views over the countryside.

Below the Asklepion area are the ruins of the city's famous medical centre. Make sure to visit this place, if you want to get a real experience of life in the Classical period. The remains of a Byzantine-era aqueduct, agora, stadium and basilica all dot the vast rolling hills surrounding the theatre here.

Patara Beach

Patara Beach stretches for more than seven miles and is one of the most beautiful and empty beaches in Turkey. There are dunes, pine trees, marshes and lagoons along one edge of this deep, wide stretch of pale sand, now a natural park rich in birdlife; so you are completely surrounded by water and wildlife - especially endangered loggerhead turtles.

The shore can be accessed via these ruins, which include an amphitheatre, parliament building (found buried in the sand in the 1990s), and columns that flank the main street. It is believed that Apollo's temple is still buried beneath the earth, but has not yet been discovered.

Aspendos

Aspendos' spectacular giant Roman theatre celebrates the grandeur and ceremony of Marcus Aurelius' reign. The highly restored 15,000-seat theatre is considered the finest surviving example of a classical-era theatre left in the world and is one of his major attractions in antiquity.

Although the theatre is the main reason to visit (for most visitors on half-day trips from nearby Antalya or Side, the theatre is the only one seen), the Aspendos Ruins have many other sites to see.

The remains of a Byzantine-era aqueduct, agora, stadium and basilica all dot the vast rolling hills surrounding the theatre here.
