What are some places Afghan citizens can visit in Turkey?

If you are planning to visit Turkey from Afghanistan, you can check our list of places given below to get a better idea about Turkey:

Beydağları Sahil Milli Parkı

The ancient ruins of Olympos and Phaselis, shaded by pine trees, are located within the boundaries of the Beydalar Coastal National Park in the Mediterranean province of Antalya, as are several magnificent beaches, particularly those near Çiralı and Adrasan. Above Çiralı is the renowned "burning rock" known as the Chimaera.

According to folklore, the small, perpetual fires that burn here are caused by a creature that is a cross between a lion, a goat, and a serpent, as well as natural gas escaping from the earth. This monster once terrorised the area, and its breath is thought to have caused it.

The Lycian Way, Turkey's most well-known hiking trail, runs through the park, and Termessos, a significant archaeological site with expansive hilltop remains, is only an hour away by car.

Mount Nemrut

The summit funerary mound of Mount Nemrut, the most popular tourist destination in eastern Turkey, is littered with the broken remains of once-vigilant enormous statues.

One of the strangest archaeological sites in Turkey has to be this strange and desolate location. Huge stone statues of long-forgotten gods adorned the summit, casting a foreboding air over the barren hilltop.

The top was built by Antiochus I, monarch of the Commagene Kingdom, which was situated in this region between the Parthian and Roman empires.

Antiochus I created a 50 m high artificial pinnacle on the summit of Mount Nemrut and decorated it with statues of himself and many gods to dedicate this enormous burial mound to himself as a demonstration of his importance.

The statues emerge from the darkness at sunrise, which is the most popular time to visit.

Pergamum

Although Turkey is home to many Greco-Roman ruins, none can match the gorgeous setting of ancient Pergamum near modern-day Bergama.

The remaining temple remains from Pergamum now loom large across a hilltop. Once the site of the famed medical school established by Galen and one of the most important libraries in antiquity (equivalent in importance to Alexandria's library).

It's an intriguingly unsettling location to find. The Acropolis region houses the majority of the ruins as well as a theatre that has been carved out of a hillside and offers wide views of the surroundings.

The ruins are located underneath the city's renowned medical centre in the Asklepion neighbourhood.

This is an excellent place to visit if you want to get a real sense of what it was like to live in the Classical era.

Kayaköy

Eight kilometres south of Fethiye, in Kayaköy (ancient Karmylassos), a prosperous mixed community of Greeks and Turks had coexisted for centuries up until the 1920s.

All of that was altered by the 1923 Population Exchange, which forcibly removed ethnic Greeks from Turkey and sent them to reside in Greece while forcing ethnic Turks already residing in Greece to leave their homes there.

Since the Greek residents fled, the abandoned, creepy stone town that winds across the mountainside here has been allowed to slowly deteriorate.

The Taxiarchis Church and Katapongagia Church are among the ruins and both still have lovely interior decorations.

The painful effects of the swap, which left those who were forced to depart feeling heartbroken and traumatised, are best depicted in Kayaköy

Butterfly Valley

The Jersey Tiger Butterfly resides on this gorgeous beach that is tucked away between two abrupt cliffs.

The fact that Butterfly Valley cannot be reached by road is one of its attractions. From the settlement of Faralya perched high above the cliff, you may either walk here or take a boat. In the summer, shuttle boats leave from Lüdeniz beach for Butterfly Valley a few times per day.

Though most visitors are content to simply spend the day lounging in the sun on the sand, there are excellent trekking options in the beautiful, forested ravine behind the beach.

The Butterfly Valley boat tour departs from Lüdeniz and is a full-day excursion that includes stops for swimming and relaxation in Butterfly Valley as well as hiking and anchoring at various coves. This is a wonderful chance to enjoy the area's coastline views. The meal is covered.

Ölüdeniz Lagoon

The most well-known beach in Turkey, the Ölüdeniz Lagoon, is located 15 kilometres south of Fethiye. People have been coming here for years because of the unbelievably flawless white sand beach, turquoise water that is tranquil and protected from the sea, and dense pine forest surrounding it.

However, the lagoon region has not experienced the expansion of other tourism hot spots, and the hamlet connected to the lagoon is still a low-story modest affair. Some of Lüdeniz's lustre has been rubbed off over the past 20 years when package tourism appeared on the scene.

Inland, Mt. Baba (Baba Da) dominates the landscape, and during the summer, paragliders take off from its summit.

Lüdeniz is one of the most well-known tandem paragliding locations in the world thanks to the aerial views of the lush forested hills and the turquoise blue sea.

The well-liked paragliding at Fethiye experience offers the standard tandem paragliding excursion from their lüdeniz office, with fully-qualified paragliding pilots and a choice of departure times.

Tandem paragliding is the other popular sport in this area if you don't want to swim or sunbathe on the beach.
